Veggie Patties


The first time I tried to make veggie patties it resulted in a disaster (except for the flavor). What happened was that the texture was not firm and too moist for them cook correctly. But practice makes perfection! So, I am sharing with you my successful attempt on making veggie patties.

Veggie patties for me can be so fun, variable and of course nutritious. They can have any kind of veggies, sticky agents and rising agents. Veggie patties usually are made of vegetables, nuts or seeds, flour and oil. This veggie patties are made of mainly carrots and then mushrooms, oat flour and seeds. I also added spices such as ginger for them to be flavorful.

You can shape the veggie patties in any form you would like. You shape them into meatballs, ovals or even squares (xD, be creative) Veggie patties can be eaten with rices, pastas, in a salad, in a wrap or as a burger.



yield: 8 medium size patties, approximately 4 servings

1cup carrots

1/2cup chopped mushrooms

1/2 cup oats

1/4 cup pepitas or sunflower seeds

1T flaxseeds

1/2tsp garlic powder

a pinch of salt

1/4tsp oregano

a few pieces of ginger

2tsp cilantro

2tsp olive oil


1- Place the carrots with the mushrooms in the food processor until finely chopped.

2- Add the rest of the ingredients and process until everything is well mixed and chopped.

3- Turn on a skillet on medium heat and spray coconut oil.

4- Take a quantity of the mixture about the size of your palm, make it a ball and then flatten it carefully.

5- Put it in the pan and let cook for 5-7 minutes. Then, flip and cook another 5-7 minutes.


6- Serve the patties with what you would like!


In the picture, it is served with lettuces and avocado.
