Vegan Homemade Protein Bars

How many of you are like me that always have a protein bar on your bag? I always carry a protein bar because they are a great option whenever I need food. It can be when I am in a rush, on my way to somewhere, as a snack or a pre/post workout treat. My favorite portien bars are NugoBars becuase they are vegan, are low fat, low carb and has good ingredients. So I would usually by them weekly or each two weeks, until I decided to make some homemades protein bars because I will save like $8 weekly! Sometimes protein bars can het expensive without you noticing.

This protein bars contain oats, banana, nut butter, pea protein and raw cacao nibs. As I tell you in many of my posts, let it be your base recipe. Feel free to add, try or substitute other ingredients.

yield: 8 bars

3 bananas

1/4 cup pea protein powder

1.5 cups rolled oats

1/4 cup nut butter

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

2 T raw cacao nibs

A pinch of sea salt

2T chia seeds


1- Pre heat the oven at 350ºF.

2- First, mashed the banana and mix with the nut butter.

3- Blend the dry ingredients (except the raw cacao nibs) in a food processor.

4- Then, combine the wet mixture with the dry one and also incorporate the raw cacao nibs.

5- Once everything is well combined, pour the batter into a square mold and bake for 15 minutes.

6- Let cool and cut. Store them in the refrigerator.
