Quinoa Bars

I had write so many times that banana+peanut butter is the BEST combination ever! These delicious bars from The Healthy Maven have banana, Icadelicias Peanut Spread, oats and quinoa. Wait…did you say quinoa? That’s right! Quinoa is not only for salty courses like lunch or dinner. You can also have quinoa for breakfast or like in this case, as a snack.

These bars will energize you at any time you eat them. You can enjoy them:

1- In the breakfast with fruits and coffee!

2- As a snack

3- For a pre or post workout meal

Their texture is soft, moist and fluffy. Definitely, you have a balanced nutrition in each bar. The quinoa provides you the essential amino acids, the Icadelicias Peanut Spread provides you healthy fats and more protein and the banana provides you healthy carbohydrates and important minerals.

Ingredients:

yield: 6 bars

3 ripe bananas mashed

1 cup oats

1 cup cooked quinoa

1/2tsp baking powder

1tsp cinnamon

a pinch of nutmeg

a pinch of sea salt

2T milled flaxseeds

1T Icadelicias Peanut Spread

1T organic coconut oil

2T agave

1/4 cup raisins

What you will need:

a square pan

Procedure:

1- Preheat the oven at 180ºC.

2- In a large bowl combine all the dry ingredients.

3- In another recipient mix the Icadelicias Peanut Spread, organic coconut oil and agave.

4- Now, pour the liquid mixture into the dry mixture until well combine.

5- Add the raisins.

6- Let the batter sit for 1o minutes.

7- Transfer the batter into the square pan.

8- Bake for 25 minutes or when the edges are golden brown and the center is firm.

9- Take it out from the oven and let it cool completely.

10- With a knife cut the snack into bars.
