Hearty Granola


I talked to you about my experience with granola in the entry of Papaya Sunshine’s Hunky Chunky Chocolate Granola. After mastrring my granola making skills, I have been abe to cook variations of granolas.

I have named this granola “hearty” because of omegas 3,6 and 9 it has from all the seeds I added. The Hearty Granola is also rich in fiber and protein. Many traspditional gtanolas are made with sugar, vegetanlemoilmor melted butter but this one is made with organic coconut oil and agave.

Spices are important ingredients that burst the flavor of granolas and make them peculiar and unique. My Hearty Granola has cinnamon and coffee flour! When it is in the baking process, they intensify the aroma of the granola. My parents, that live in a second floor, always call me to ask me what Iam cooking because that it smells really good.

This Hearty Granol requires love and attention because each 10-15minutes you have to take it out of the oven and mix it in irder for the ingredients to cook evenly.



yield: about 3 cups

An oven tray to cook the granola

2.5 cups oats

1/3 cup flax meal

1/2 cup sunflower seeds

1/2 cup pumpkin seeds

1/2 cup coconut oil

1/2 cup agave

2 tsp cinnamon

1T coffee flour


1- Preheat the oven at 180ºC.

2- In a big bowl mix all of the dry ingredients.


3- Pour the agave and coconut oil into the dry ingredients and stir until everything is completely coated.


4- Transfer the granola to the oven tray and cook in the oven during 40 minutes. Stir each 10-15 minutes.


5- Once it is golden, take out from the oven and let cool completely outside.


6- Transfer the granola to the storing bowl and store in the fridge.
