My first time eating REAL cherries was during my trip to Argentina. hen I was a little girl, I did not like the fake cherries that were used to top ice creams and my sister or dad always eat them. FAKE cherries are unpitted and bathed in red coloring and corn syrup. But when I taste REAL cherries (WOW) things changed. My first time eating REAL cherries was during my trip to Argentina. They are plum colored and have a small seed. Cherries are not sweet as strawberries and neither nitter as raspberries. It is a low sugar fruit, high in antioxidants.
In Puerto Rico you can only find cherries at Costco. I was very curious about this powerful fruit because everytime I scrolled through my Instagram account, I saw beautiful pictures with cherries because we are in cherry season, but here, cherries are not grown.
I wanted my first creation with cherries to be paired with chocolate because, again, Instagram influence ( you know… Instagram is my fav solcial media!)
So what a better way to try cherries in a nice cream!? I prepared a double flavor nice cream consisting of pure cocoa powder and pure cherries. Then, I topped the Chocolate and Cherry Nice Cream with macadamia flour! I really suggest you to use macadamia for topping because it puts this dish to a higher level! If you do not have macadamia nuts or flour, then you can buy Icadelicias Macadamia Spread!
Ingredients
yield: 2 servings
For the chocolate nice cream:
2 frozen and chopped bananas
2 T unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup water
For the cherry nice cream:
2 frozen and chopped bananas
10 cherries
1/4 cup water
For topping:
More cherries (I used 4)
1.5 T of Macadamia Flour
Procedure:
For the chocolate nice cream:
1- Add all of the ingredients in a food processor until ice cream consistency.
2- Pour half of the chocolate nice cream in both serving dishes.
For the cherry ice cream:
1- First, you need to remove the seed of each cherry so cut the cherrY in halves first and then remove the seed.
2- When finished, add al, of the ingredients to the food processor until ice cream consistency.
3- Now, pour half of the ice cream in the dish with the chocolate ice cream
For topping:
1- Add the cherries and then sprinkle the macadamia flour and enjoy!
