So delectable. This Cheesy Scone is everything you need. Seriously.
I tasted it for the first time and for some seconds the time stopped. It was an unexpected flavor that I had never taste before. In a part of your mouth you can taste a sweetness and in another a slightly cheesy flavor. The texture is soft and kind of sandy. It is not a compact scone. It breathes for itself.
I was not conscious of how much I missed cheese until I tried nutritional yeast. I had hear of it with my peers and see it many times in social medias but had never look for it in a healthy food market. I decided to try it and now I am haunted with it I do not why I took a lot of time discovering it. It smells delicious and taste like cheese but lighter. I use it mostly to cook the tofu. It adds a lot of flavor with only 1T. I also add it on top of pastas and vegan burgers. With the heat, the nutritional yeast gets a sticky and nice texture. Besides it delicious flavor, smell and texture, nutritional yeast was 2g of protein, 2 of carbohydrates and 1g of fiber. The protein comes from the B complex which is very important for our system. Nutritional yeast also contains many minerals and vitamins. So do not think it twice when using nutritional yeast.
I had the idea of baking savory scones instead of sweet ones. So why not making ones with nutritional yeast. I added nutritional yeast to the mixture and on top of it to get extra flavor and texture. Despite that I only added 2 T of maple syrup, these scones are quite sweet. So, I discovered that when baked, nutritional yeast can turn quite sweet.
This scones are eatable with anything and at anytime: snack, breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert. You can enjoy them with fruits, vegetables, salads, vegan spreads, nuts spreads or jams.
