The pumpkin spice flavor has revolutionized the World. Nearly, from September until November, EVERYTHING is pumpkin spiced; candles, scents, food, desserts, coffee and other beverages.
This delicious and revolutionary fall flavor is very easy to make. In this post, I will provide you the recipe to prepare your OWN pumpkin spice batter. Of course, you will need pumpkin and the other ingredients are cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and a sweetener (I used organic agave). Pumpkin Spice recipes may vary according to the chef’s taste. For example, some recipes include allspice, cloves or anise, which I did not require. An interesting ingredient that you can also add is turmeric. It will add a brighter orange color.
Now, is pumpkin spice flavor healthy? Of course! All of the ingredients have properties that bring benefits to us:
1- Pumpkin: high source of vitamin A, contains potassium
2-Cinnamon: stabilizes the sugar in the blood, natural sweetener, contains antioxidants (polyphenols), anti-inflammatory
3- Nutmeg: stimulates the digestive system, detoxify the body, antibacterial
4- Ginger: anti-inflammatory, relieve gastrointestinal irritation, boost the immune system,
5- Turmeric: anti-inflammatory, anticoagulant, improves brain function
6- Agave: low glycemic sweetener, boost the immune system, decrease appetite, antibacterial
If you add these other spices:
1- Cloves: relieve toothaches, relieve respiratory infections, reduce inflammation, improve digestion
2- Anise: contains antioxidants, antiseptic, antispasmodic, tonic agent, has b complex vitamins
3- Allspice: anti-inflammatory, soothes the stomach, antimicrobial, antibacterial and antiseptic
Over all, the pumpkin spice mix is anti-inflammatory, soothes your digestive system and provides you vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
You can use this batch for coffee, porridges, batters and ANYTHING that your imagination tells you.
I had use it so far in pancakes, waffles, crepes, overnight oats and chia puddings.

1- Boil the pumpkin until very soft and remove the skin.
2- In a blender add all of the ingredients and blend until smooth and homogeneous.
3- Store in a container int the refrigerator until 6 days.
