Ginger and Molasses Granola

Ginger and Molasses is quite for Christmas Season. Nonetheless, it does not matter if you have it at any other time of the year. Molasses and ginger are two incredibly healthy ingredients to go for at any moment.

Did you now that molasses is full of vital minerals such as manganese an iron? This dense liquid is more powerful than you imagined. Blackstrap molasses has vitamin B6 complex, chromium, which improves your metabolism. Blackstrap molasses is not sweet as agave. It may taste a little bit bitter but it really gives a unique and amazing flavor to any dish! (I love to add a trickle to my pancake mixture.)

Ginger, you now, it is the BEST root because of its MIRACULOUS properties. It is antiviral, antibiotic and anti bacterial. Ginger helps your digestive and immune system. It adds an amazing and sometimes spicy flavor to any dish. Beside of ginger pieces, I used cold ginger tea. How? I put a pot with water to boil. Then, add the whole peeled ginger and let it boil for ten minutes. Wait for it to get to room temperature. Store in a recipient in the refrigerator.

So, this granola recipe main ingredients are blackstrap molasses and ginger. It also has tumeric so this is quiet a medicinal granola. The flavor is really delicious and unique.

Ingredients:

yield: 5 cups

5 cups oats

1 cup walnuts

1tsp vanilla extract

1/4 cup cold ginger tea

1/4 cup blackstrap molasses

1/4cup organic agave

1/3 cup organic coconut oil

about 2T ginger zest

1T tumeric zest

1T cinnamon

a pinch of sea salt

Procedure:

1- Pre heat the oven on 180ºC.

2- In a big recipient combine all of the dry ingredients.

3- Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until everything is well coated.

4- Spread all the granola in a tray (you may need two trays) and put in the oven.

5- Cook for 30 mins, stirring every 15mins.

6- Take out from the oven and let cool completely.

7- Once  it has cooled, store in the container. You may leave it outside the fridge up to 2 weeks.
