Double Cake is a fine pastry shop located in the Loiza Street in Santurce, Puerto Rico. This place elaborates its sweets in the same building and you can watch them through a crystal room. It is an ideal place to relax, talk, share and even study. They cook macaroons, different types of bread, cupcakes, muffins, puddings, sticky buns, cinnamon rolls, cookies and truffles.
They also make quesitos: original ones, with nutella, dulce de leche or almond.
They add love and care to the food they make. You may enjoy each fine pastry with a delcious coffee. They also make fresh lemonade and rasberry lemonade.
They make every sweet of an amazing flavor. For example, they have chai cupcakes and macaroons, honey lavander cupcakes, peanut butter cookies, truffles and cupcakes, rose, rocky road and tiramissú cupcakes. They also make bacon and peanut butter cookies and fruity pebbles macaroons. They make a daily special bread such as pesto, rosemary, cinnamon, nutella or baguette.
I bought a box of four cupcakes. I chose the chai, rocky road, passion fruit and lemon with rasberry fill cupcakes. I ate the Lemon and Rasberry one. It has an incredibly soft, sponge and moist texture. The lemon flavor was perfectly combined and it has the exact amount of rasberry filled. The frosting was smooth and delicious. The marbles and the flower were eatable too.
They have a mini sugar station (this is how I named it). They have jars of sugars mixed with cocoa, vanilla beans, lemon, allspice and many others. I found this very creative.
The ambience is joyful. They have flowers in each table.
The roof is lighted with tiny light bulbs.
They have a comfortable red sofa for you to have a better experience, study or work.
