Pear Pancakes

If consume with its flesh, it has flavonoids, antioxidants, fiber and antiinflamatory properties. Pears are usually very soft and juicy. Its color may vary upon the type of pear. They can be yellow, green, red or brown. Some types of pears are: Anjou, Asian, Little White, Saint Johns or Lemon Pear. However, pears can avoid diabetes and cancer. They are a good source of copper, iron, potassium, manganese, magnesium and B-complex vitamins. In the natural medicine pears are used to control colitis, chronic gallbladder, gout and arthritis. Pears also work as a durietic and remove bad cholesterol. The nutritional facts of a pear per 100grams are: 0.4g fat, 15g carbohydrates and 0.7g protein. A pear of the dame wight has 83g of water, 130mg of potassium and 11mg of phosphorous.

I made a few arrangements to the mix of this pancakes and now they are even better! I usually have coffe with my pancakes and since they were so delicious I did not want to take out that taste out of my tongue so I did not drink coffee! This new recipe consist of my own original mix for pancakes, very simple, will show you soon on the ingredients. Then added walnut and some pear pieces to the pancakes mix. Finally I topped them with the remaining pear, a little bit of walnuts for more crunchyness and my walnut butter (which I sell 4oz for $5.00, you can contact me if you want it to icapaola@gmail.com or via Facebook).

The mixture is trully smooth and savory. You can feel the tender pears on the bites you take. I used homemade pear puree which is made by cutting a pearinto small pieces. Then, add them to the blender or food processor and blend with water until puree. I added spices such as two cloves, ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg. The mixture have a few pieces of pears and it is optional to add a nut for crunchyness. You can topped your pancakes with chopped pears, greek yogurt, berries or your favorite nut butter. Here you have two ways of garnishing these pancakes. You can place them along side or as a tower. In the second picture, I garnished the pancakes with a pouched pear in anis water.

Ingredients:                                                                                                                                                                                                           yield: 1 person

1/4cup whole wheat flour        1/2tsp vanilla      2tsp brown sugar     a small batch of small chopped pear      1/2cup pear puree                 a pinch of salt, cinnamon and nutmeg            1/4tsp baking soda                 water for mixing purpose

Optional toppings:   1/3cup greek yogurt     pouched pear     berries      nut butter     nuts

Mix all the ingredientes except the pieces of pear and mix with the puree and water if necessary. After mixing, add the chopped pears and nuts if using. Turn on a pan on medium heat and spray coconut oil. Pour a desire amount of pancakes and cook until bubbles appear. They will be ready to flip and cook other minute.

Transfer the pancakes to the serving dish and serve them as your which.

For the pouch pear: Simply let boil water in a small sauce pan and add the spices you want. For example, ginger, tumeric, allspice or anis. Once the water had boil, put the pear and let it boil until soft. This will take about 10-15mins. It depends how mature is the pear you took. Once done, remove from the boiling water and put it on top of the pancake. The pear will be super soft, hot, aromatic and tasty.
